E-mail configuration


The following instructions are generic instructions on how to setup your email.

Thunderbird configuration

Step 01:

  1. In the "Tools" menu

  2. click on "Account parameters..." to configure your e-mail accounts

Step 02: POP configuration

  1. Click on "Add an account..."

  2. Select the option "Electronic mail account" and click on "Next"

  3. Enter "Your name" and "E-mail address", then click on "Next"

  4. Select the type of "POP" server

  5. Enter the "server name": pop.vo.lu

  6. Untick the check box "Use the global box" and click on "Next"

  7. Enter your full e-mail address as "User name" and click on "Next"

  8. Enter an "Account name" and click on "Next"

  9. Check all the data and click on "Finish" to register the account

Step 03: SMTP configuration

  1. Select "Outgoing server (SMTP)" in the list of accounts

  2. Click on "Add..."

  3. Enter a "Description" for the server

  4. Enter the "Server name": smtp.vo.lu

  5. Enter your full e-mail address as "User name" and check that the box "Use a user name and password" is ticked.

  6. Click on "OK".

Step 04:

  1. Close the "Account parameters window by clicking on "OK"
